After writing my books, working with emerging writers is the part of this career/avocation/passion I love most of all. I was helped and inspired by authors early on in my career, reading their work of course, but also going to their book events and meeting them at conferences. Now that I'm published, I get to do the same things from the other side of the table, mike, or room--and tell you all that with enough time, sweat, learning, honing, work, and in all honesty, a few tears...you can get to the other side too. I maintain a writer- and book-centric newsletter, to which I encourage you to subscribe, and there are a few more official ways I meet and work with writers too.
